The successful applicant will be responsible for the humane transport of market hogs from Maple Leaf Agri- Farms’ (MLAF) production sites to the Maple Leaf Plant in Brandon, MB. Key responsibilities are pick-up and delivery of pigs as assigned by the dispatcher; proper handling and care of pigs during the loading and unloading process; quality customer service; adherence to bio-security protocols; discuss maintenance concerns with the Supervisor; maintain a log book, if required; keep tractor/trailer unit clean and organized and completion of all paperwork according to MLAF requirements.
Minimum grade 10 or equivalent; 1 year experience driving a trailer/tractor unit; valid Class 1A Driver’s License and favorable Driver’s Abstract. He/She will have good communication skills, the ability to work flexible hours (including some weekends and holidays), and enjoy working with livestock.
Salary: $17.00 - $20.00/hour.
