We are accepting applications for a Commercial Risk Analyst-Market Segmentation within our Winnipeg office. The primary responsibility of this position is to underwrite renewals and mid term account changes with the objective of maintaining and internally growing a profitable book of business.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Risk Analysis your responsibilities will include thorough risk analysis resulting in appropriate Property and Casualty and Automobile business selection; evaluate, interpret and request information as deemed necessary to complete an appropriate evaluation of the risk; determine acceptability of risks resulting in profitable premium growth and retention. Monitor and analyze profitability of segmented book of accounts; complete large loss reviews as required; utilize and understand facultative reinsurance according to company guidelines. Accompany Risk Services Coordinators on client trips on an as needed basis to review accounts.
Position requirements: University Degree or College Diploma; minimum of 3 – 5 years
underwriting experience in the Property/Casualty insurance industry; completion of or actively working towards CIP or CRM designation; knowledge of the facultative reinsurance market; proven oral and written communication skills; strong decision making capabilities; the ability to function efficiently and produce in a changing environment; basic knowledge of personal computers and the ability to travel.
