PAYROLL & BENEFITS TECHNICIAN
The successful incumbent is responsible for preparing and processing the Company’s payroll/compensation system and for supporting the Payroll & Benefits Administrator with benefit administration. Specific duties include: completing payroll functions, timesheet data entry and payroll set up; preparing monthly journal entries for payroll and benefit related accounts; compiling various statistical reports; and calculating and maintaining the incentive program and reports.
Qualifications include: Completion of a university degree or college diploma in Business Administration/Commerce and/or equivalent business experience (5 - 7 years); current and strong knowledge of payroll and CRA requirements and regulations and a demonstrated understanding of Provincial payroll legislation, taxable benefits and Employment Standards; strong analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills and exceptional Excel skills, with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes, Access and various reporting and database applications.
